 History of Greenfield Park Estate

## 80+ Years of Community

Greenfield Park Estate, located in the Dublin 9 suburb of Santry, represents a significant phase in post-war suburban expansion in north Dublin. Developed between the early 1950s and the early-to-mid 1960s, the estate was constructed by **Wates & Company Ltd**, a British building firm that played a prominent role in Dublin’s mid-20th-century suburban development.

At the time of its construction, the area was transitioning from rural farmland to a more suburban environment. The land chosen for the estate bordered the historic village of **Santry**, which had until then maintained a rural character.
